ABC Licensing Committee

Chair: Commissioner Alex Padro (2G02)
Meetings: First Thursday of each month
Format: Virtual
About: The ABCL Committee meets on the Thursday prior to the Commission’s monthly public meeting via Zoom to review applications for new licenses, substantial changes and renewals of licenses issued by the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA). The meetings are open to the public. The applicant is invited to present their request for support to the Committee and answer questions from Committee members and constituents. The Single Member District Commissioner in which an establishment is located or proposed to be located is asked to present any input gathered from constituents based on the ABRA placard posted at the establishment and present a draft settlement agreement addressing any general or specific concerns regarding the establishment’s operations. The Committee can issue a recommendation to the full Commission to support or oppose the application under consideration or can decline to make a recommendation. The full Commission makes the final decision and takes action on the application at a public meeting.
